Director
Linda Fung
Founder of Origin
Chairman of the Tian Zhen Charity Fund
Vice-Chairperson of Hong Kong Ballet Company
Director of Hong Kong Dance Foundation
From Ballet to Taichi – A Journey to Mind-Body Harmony Linda Fung's life is a graceful arc between two worlds: from the luminous, expressive energy of Western ballet to the deep, meditative stillness of Eastern Taichi. This journey is not a departure, but a profound integration—a return to 元 (Yuán), the Origin—where she now guides others to find balance, health, and harmony. Her artistic foundation was forged in the rigorous discipline of ballet. Beginning her training at the Christine Liao School of Ballet in Hong Kong, her passion led her to the prestigious Royal Ballet School in London and The Juilliard School in New York. She graced the stage with the Hong Kong Ballet Company and later captivated audiences as a beloved television host, sharing her artistry with the world. A pivotal journey to China ignited a new passion: the study of Traditional Chinese culture. In 2009, she had the immense privilege of studying under the renowned scholar and Chan Buddhist Master, Nan Huai Chin (南怀瑾大师). This was followed in 2011 by an introduction to the ancient wisdom of Taiji under Master Xing Qi Lin, a Fourth Generation Master of Li Style Taichi. In the deep stillness and meditative grounding of Taiji, she discovered the complementary force to ballet's dynamic energy—an inward flow of Qi that brought a new dimension of mind-body harmony to her life. For Linda, the rigorous discipline of ballet training and the flowing energy of Taiji are not opposites, but two halves of a whole. Her unique wellness practice integrates both to cultivate a healthy body and a healthy mind, leading to mind-body harmony. This vision is realized through *元 Origin*, the wellness practice she founded to guide others on their own transformative journey back to their core. The name 元 (Yuán) embodies the ancient wisdom of "一元復始,萬象更新"—by returning to the one, to our root, all things are renewed and take on fresh vibrancy. Linda Fung's work represents an integration of physical discipline and mental awareness, of Eastern philosophy and Western artistry. Her leadership and expertise are widely recognized, serving in key roles that further her mission: - Founder of 元 Origin - Chairman of Tian Zhen Charity Fund - Vice-Chairperson of Hong Kong Ballet Company - Director of Hong Kong Dance Foundation
